Rugiatu, a determined entrepreneur from Lunsar, Sierra Leone, is a shining example of how access to financial support can transform a small business. A trained and qualified hairdresser, Rugiatu operates a modest business centre from her home, providing hairdressing services and selling quality hair products. After receiving her first loan in the November 2023 disbursement, Rugiatu used the money to grow her business, purchasing additional items to better serve her customers. Recognising the seasonal nature of her hairdressing services, particularly during festive periods like December, she realised the need to diversify her offerings to sustain and grow her business.
With her second loan from Reseed in May 2024, Rugiatu expanded her business further, adding a wide variety of goods to her stock. This move not only increased her profits but also ensured she could make her monthly loan repayments on time.
Rugiatu’s success goes beyond her local community; she also travels to the nearby Luma area, reaching more customers and increasing her sales. Today, with Reseed’s support, Rugiatu’s business is flourishing, and she is grateful for the positive impact it has had on both her livelihood and the community.
