Pa Sorie’s Story: Empowering a Family Through Opportunity
Pa Sorie faced a challenging time when illness led to the amputation of his leg, making it difficult to support his family. Despite this setback, his determination to provide for his loved ones never wavered. Recognising the need for support, Pa Sorie became a beneficiary of Reseed’s Microfinance Programme, receiving a loan that became a turning point in his family’s journey.
With the support of the loan, Pa Sorie’s wife, Adamsay, took the lead in managing the funds. She started a business selling cooked foofoo (a staple dish in Sierra Leone) at one of the schools in Lunsar, using the opportunity to create a steady source of income for the family.
The couple’s teamwork and perseverance have made a significant impact. Their six children are now supported through this business, with four attending school and the younger two helping their mother prepare foofoo for sale. The loan has provided not just financial relief but also a sense of stability and hope for the future.
The couple’s hard work and determination have created a meaningful change. Their business now supports their six children, with four attending school while the younger two help their mother prepare foofoo for sale. The loan has brought not only financial support but also stability and hope for a brighter future.
Pa Sorie and Adamsay’s story is a true example of resilience, the strength of family, and the power of opportunity.
